Welcome

snorklee is your website statistics, kept simple: pageviews, visitors, sources, countries, devices, events and sales — no measurement cookie, no advertising identifier, hosted in Paris. Alongside, one page shows, without overstatement, which AI robots read your site and how many visitors AI assistants send you. This help does three things: install the Snorklee code, read your numbers, and keep a record for your compliance.

#Where to start

1. Copy the Snorklee code from Settings › Installation.
2. Paste it once into your site's <head>, or follow your platform's guide.
3. Open Verify installation, then the Statistics screen to watch the first visits arrive.
4. To see AI robots too, install the WordPress plugin or the server module that catches them: robots don't run the JavaScript on your pages, so without this module you won't see a single one go by. They then appear on the AI traffic screen.

#The three screens

• Statistics — a single page: four numbers (unique visitors, pageviews, average duration, engagement rate), the traffic chart, then five tabbed blocks — Sources, Pages, Places, Devices and Goals. Clicking a row filters the whole page on that value; clicking it again removes the filter. See Dashboard tour.
• AI traffic — AI robot hits and visitors sent by an AI assistant, never added together.
• Settings — three sections: Sites (managing your sites and the client report), Installation (the code, verification, guides, the server module, API keys) and Privacy (DPA, retention periods, export and erasure).

#What snorklee measures

• For your human visitors: pageviews, visitors, sources, countries, devices, languages and broad usage trends — all grouped together, never tracked person by person.
• Your goals: the custom events you send, and your sales with their amount.
• Visitors sent by an AI assistant (ChatGPT, Perplexity…): at least that many, because most AI apps don't pass on where the visitor came from.
• With the WordPress plugin or the server module: AI robot hits per vendor, per robot, per page and per day, as each robot declares itself — a robot's name can be spoofed, and Snorklee does not certify its identity. See How AI traffic is measured.

#What snorklee does not see

• AI that drive a real browser (for example with Playwright, or a "computer-use" agent): the Snorklee code doesn't start in an automated browser, so they are not counted.
• Programs that fetch your pages without a browser: dropped on arrival, never stored.
• Stealth AI that pass themselves off as an ordinary browser: impossible to tell apart from a human today, so they're counted among the humans.
• No campaign or advertising data (no UTM), no measurement cookie, no identifier that would follow a visitor from one visit to the next, no session replay, no individual profile.

#What to keep in mind legally

snorklee helps you keep a record of a deliberately minimal measurement. It does not replace your own compliance: your site, your legal basis, the information you give visitors and your other tools remain your responsibility.
